The programme combines the Macuco Trail hike, a pedestrian route of about 7 kilometres round trip through the subtropical rainforest, with six interpretive stations and ending at Salto Arrechea, a 23-metre waterfall with a natural pool; and the boat crossing to San Martín Island, accessible depending on the level of the Iguazú river. The trail requires medium fitness and takes around 3 hours of walking. Access to the Macuco Trail operates until 15:00. Admission to Iguazú National Park is paid separately and is not included. Transport is by private vehicle with driver; groups of more than 3 passengers travel in an SUV or Minivan subject to availability.
